Im going to tackle something near and dear to my heart. Nerds... its become pretty big these days with the rise of nerdcore music with much more things that were labeled "nerdy" so here we go.
i have edited a compolation of what can be found on what started in 2007 its called the "nerdcore calender" the use of appeal to desire. the imagery i wont say these girls are nerds, but i will say they glorify nerds as beautiful sex symbols.
what i really find intresting is in all the images from these calenders i have found and promo materal all the woman are not making eye contact, as if they are to good for you in some way, and the super woman one is looking down on you as though you were lesser then her. They use Tesimonials very well showing only nintendo products, no apple computers, or microsoft xboxs, almost as though nerds have brand loyalty. The age group they are looking at are 18-32, i say 32 because if you notice the fact they are using old nintendo products like the nintendo powergolve (not really known by many people under the age of 24 as it seems) and the original gameboy (color unit, AND the girl on the bed is playing an original). i can not say that these are marketed for boys now because i know more girls that have these hanging up then guys.

i find it interesting how a culture whos whole purpose is being different being hot in a different way (brain over body) would create something like this.
